Our Client is a part of a global line business which is present in over 20 countries. They provides vendor and equipment finance to the full breadth of the business sector.

The Head of Business Change and Infrastructure will work alongside the CIO to deliver technological solutions that provide the ease of use that our customers need and which are aligned with the Organisation’s strategic objectives. S/he will be responsible for the management of the day to day activities and co-ordination of work within the Application Support, Business Change and IT areas of work. The Business Change and Application support Teams constantly review business processes in all areas of the business, listening carefully to the requirements of each unit to develop, promote and implement change, creating efficiency and capacity in the organisation and pro-actively developing customer facing interfaces such that they become the systems of choice for the Organisation\’s partners. The IT team is responsible for ensuring the Organisation has a robust IT infrastructure which covers the immediate and future business needs without disruption. It provides day to day management of the UK business IT infrastructure covering the whole IT eco system, largely through third party suppliers to ensure the very best level of services to all the staff.

Our Client requires an experienced Manager/Head of Department with excellent knowledge of technological solutions and how they might be adapted for their business, a track record of successful systems implementations as well as being well versed in managing and coaching teams.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Influence and work alongside colleagues across the business in their delivery of mutualised systems.
  • Lead and Manage the Business Change and Infrastructure Functions
  • Manage and develop all current and future company systems and infrastructure including processing systems, project management, database management/reporting, IT infrastructure management, product development (as it relates to processes and systems), building infrastructure, business continuity and transversal projects in these areas
  • Under the direction of the CIO, facilitate the management of systems and technology budget
  • Ensure teams are correctly aligned to the strategy of the business
  • Oversee the management of the relationships with all key systems and infrastructure suppliers and ensure that regular reviews are carried out.
  • Ensure BCI teams manage SLAs with suppliers so that they meet expected service levels and provide the necessary system and infrastructure support, business continuity facilities and planning.
  • Overall responsibility for the functionality and maintenance of all key systems through good communication, understanding and control of our suppliers
  • Control and maximise efficiency and capacity. In addition to ensure that quality of data is maintained to the highest standard.
  • To work closely with the business to help develop and assist in the implementation of various system enhancements as required.
  • Ensure the development and maintenance of appropriate documentation, security and controls over all IT processes, systems and infrastructure.
  • To manage projects as and when required ensuring a clear understanding of the business needs.
  • Work with Risk and Sales on an ongoing basis to ensure that the Business Rules Engine is fully utilised within the business and in addition, look at how the tool can be used in other areas.
  • Provide a monthly report to the CIO collating the reports of BCI Team Leaders and identify any key areas requiring review. This includes analysing where time is being spent and identifying areas of concern.
  • Assist in the coaching and development of team leaders and identify training needs

Individual Requirements:

  • Awareness of the emergence of new technologies and their potential relevance to the Organisation’s business.
  • Experience of customer interface development through the whole customer journey (e.g. on-boarding, in life queries/management) and systems linkage.
  • Significant experience of team management/mentoring/motivation and of a range of team structures.
  • Understanding and direct participation in agile or similar working practices.
  • Project management experience with the ability to blend an understanding of the technical aspects of systems/software development with clear and simple communication to non-technical people across the business
  • Good understanding in the area of IT, particularly in an environment where IT infrastructure is hosted externally.
  • Good understanding of IT security topics
  • Ability to consider other influences on tasks and projects- look at the “bigger picture”
  • Good working knowledge of the Asset Finance or other similar Industry and products offered
  • Understanding of the commercial environment and ability to show empathy with business unit without losing objectivity.
